A report in Politico highlights ongoing opposition among Republican lawmakers to President Donald Trump's December order to reschedule cannabis.
In a December letter shortly before the rescheduling announcement, 22 Republican Senators wrote: “Facilitating the growth of the marijuana industry is at odds with growing our economy and encouraging healthy lifestyles for Americans.” All of them had voted for the federal hemp ban as part of the November deal to end the federal shutdown, which Trump signed.
