California's Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) has released a new AI tool designed to help manufacturers determine if their packaging appeals to minors. The new Cannabis Product Image Analyzer (CPIA) enables licenses to upload images and receive a non-binding assessment of whether it complies with the state ban on kid-friendly packaging.

  • Banned motifs include, but aren't limited to cartoons, imitations of candy and snack food, and any variation on the word 'candy,' such as kandeez.
