Newsbrief: NorCal Cannabis requires less water than other uses, study

Cannabis cultivation accounts for less water usage in Northern California watersheds than residential use or non-cannabis agriculture, according to a new peer-reviewed study by researchers from UC Berkeley and the state Department of Fish and Wildlife.
While cannabis has attracted criticism for water usage the study noted: “cannabis is far more likely to exacerbate existing impairments than it is to manifest meaningful streamflow impairments on its own.”
