Texas awarded nine new conditional MED licenses, paving the way for a significant expansion of its state program. However, it's likely to remain among the most restrictive MED markets for the foreseeable future.
The state legislature created the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP) in 2015 enabling access to certain low-THC products for a list of serious conditions. The expansion, which passed this year, added conditions and enabled an expansion in product formats.
While it does not allow smokable flower, the state health department will permit new form factors including lotions and pulmonary inhalers . . .
