QUEBEC RELENTS ON PUBLIC BAN

After concluding it would be unenforceable, Quebec's CAQ government is dropping plans to ban cannabis in all public places.

• Montreal mayor Valérie Plante opposed the law, saying it would be impossible to enforce in a city where 60% of residents are renters, whose landlords have the right to ban them from smoking or vaping indoors.
