Newsbrief: Calif. lawmakers to weigh disposable vape ban
A California Assembly committee is set to vote tomorrow on a bill to ban disposable ("all in one") vapes. A leading cannabis industry group strongly opposes the legislation.
Sponsored by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D- LA/Ventura Cos.) (AB 762) the bill would ban disposable nicotine and cannabis vapes, which supporters say are among the fastest growing sources of electronic waste. Disposable vapes currently account for an industry-estimated 12% of licensed sales statewide, and account for $75M in annual pot tax revenue.
