- A new 20-minute doc from Forbes discusses “How America botched legal weed.”
- NY Cannabis Insider points out that NBA Hall of Famer Chris Webber and entrepreneur Lavetta Willis, who are part of a team to manage the New York’s $200M equity fund have “strong financial ties” to Cookies. “Webber and Willis are tasked with raising funds for dispensaries that will compete with their own financial interests,” if Cookies gets a New York license.
- Hawthorne, Scotts Miracle-Gro’s cannabis growing arm, said it was shutting down SoCal lighting brand Luxx, which it acquired in January. Scotts acquired Luxx, in large part, for its relationships with legacy growers including Jungle Boys.
- High Times’ parent company sued the people it bought the company from in 2016 accusing them of lying during negotiations.

- Californians are voting on more than 20 local ballot initiatives this election day. They include measures for unincorporated LA County and unincorporated San Diego County.
@supernovawomen - An environmental group sued Oakland for allegedly rubber-stamping indoor grows without conducting state-mandated environmental assessments.
- A ballot initiative in Oakland would create a progressive tax structure for businesses, including weed businesses.

- Kiva‘s infused gravy is back this Thanksgiving season.
- Jetty Extracts said it would be the first brand to introduce OCal-certified solventless products. OCal is a state-run “comparable to organic” certification for cannabis products.
